This is the entry portal into the competitive side of the swimming club.  The typical age range of this squad is between 10 and 15 years.  Swimmers should have a strong level of competency in stroke technique and focused on increasing performance levels in competition.

Entry Requirements

• Achieve an A time in a graded gala
• Swim 12 x 100m Frontcrawl on 2.20 with bilateral breathing and correct turns
• Swim 12 x 100m IM on 2.45 with correct turns
• Swim 400m Breaststroke legally
• Swim 300m kick on 4 strokes
• Swim 75m Butterfly legally

Squad aims

• Progress towards Silver Hat squad entry criteria
• Attend at least 4 sessions per week
• One morning session should be attended
• Cover between 3000m and 3500m per session
• Master competency across 4 strokes and starts/turns
• Train within competitive coaching framework
• Attend available competitions
• Keep a log of training and competition performance
• Learn how to set goals and match expected competition performance with training performance
• Responsibility for training equipment
