This squad is a high performance group with aim of achieving honours at a provincial and Division 2 national level. 
The typical age profile of this squad is between 11 and 18 years.

Entry Requirements

• Achieve a Division 2 qualifying time
• Swim 20 x 100m Frontcrawl on 2.00
• Swim 15 x 100m IM on 2.20 with correct turns
• Swim T30 time trial with continuous swimming
• Swim 400m kick on 4 strokes
• Swim 100m butterfly legally

Squad aims

• Progress towards Black Hat squad entry criteria
• Attend at least 4 sessions per week
• At least one morning session should be attended
• Cover between 3500m and 4000m per session
• Train within competitive coaching framework
• Attend available competitions
• Look for distance swimming events
• Keep a log of training and competition performance
• Set goals to match expected competition performance with training performance
• Responsibility for training equipment
• Work towards assistant swimming teaching award
